The University of Mitrovica (UPKM) was founded in 1969 in Pristina, and since 2002 the registered office of the UPKM has been in Kosovska Mitrovica. UPKM is involved in the project with the idea of further improving its own educational process. This HEI has so far had several projects under the Tempus and Erasmus calls and has managed to build the basic elements of implementing e-learning in its curricula. A significant part of these projects was in the field of e-learning. Participation in this project will enable the UPKM to use and improve the results achieved so far. Through the implementation of the project, UPKM increases the capacity of cooperation with institutions in the region and creates preconditions for further strengthening of cooperation. It especially expects that the implementation of this project will contribute to the improvement of the results of the SMARTEL project (Project Reference: 618534-EPP-1-2020-1-XK-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) and upgrade on them. Further improvement of the teaching process through the proposed improvement of the learning model will contribute to better positioning of students in solving real problems and improve their employment capacity. The UPKM plans to continue disseminating the project’s proposed model for improving learning at other faculties and courses within the UPKM. Cooperation with other HEIs is a high priority of UPKM. It is a member of the European University Association and has established cooperation with the Balkan University Network and numerous institutions around the world. This is also shown by the cooperation agreements with more than 60 HEIs from 23 countries. Cooperation within this project proposal is another step in improving the international capacity of the UPKM. Today, there are 10 faculties within the UPKM, and the teaching and administrative staff of the Faculty of Medicine will be included in this project in front of the UPKM. This faculty has been a part of UPKM since its establishment. Teaching at the faculty is organized for: Integrated academic studies of medicine, Integrated academic studies of dentistry, Basic academic studies of nursing and Doctoral academic studies. Participation in this project will be an opportunity to implement MCPB modules at the Integrated Academic Studies of Medicine, and after that it plans to continue to develop this model of learning independently in other courses.
