Medical University of Innsbruck (MUI). Within the framework of the University Act of 2002, the medical faculty was separated from the Leopold-Franzens University, and in 2004 the Medical University of Innsbruck (MUI) was established as a university in its own right. Today It is the most important medical research and training facility in western Austria and the home university of many Tyroleans, South Tyroleans and students from the Province of Vorarlberg.
The Medical University of Innsbruck, as a specialized university in the field of medicine in this project, will have the position of EU HEIs – partner in the project from an EU member state. MUI is one of the leading medical education institutions in Austria with outstanding developmental and scientific results. From the aspect of importance for this project, the capacities of MIU in the field of basic sciences and works of clinical medical fields are especially emphasized. In its work, MUI strives for continuous development of the educational process and within this project, staff from this university will implement training of trainers from WBC HEIs in the direction of developing advanced and innovative learning models and their application in medical sciences.
MUI will host a visit to WBC HEIs and organize a training of trainers for the application of innovative teaching models in education in basic medical sciences and selected clinical areas of medicine. The coaching training processes will be conducted within the University Clinic of anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine in Innsbruck. This institution strongly supports the implementation of this project because it uses different segments of digitalization of learning to train its staff and students.
